Comedian Steve Patrick Adams weaves together a personal story of pending birth, loss and fitting one’s life into a pretty okay rental car. Utilizing a blend of oral storytelling and animation, Steve guides you through painfully honest moments with touches of absurdity and philosophical musings. The results are surprisingly fun.
About the Artist
A recent arrival to Montreal, Steve Patrick Adams is a long-time comedian who took advantage of his time working as a writer and illustrator for television to rediscover a lapsed love of drawing and develop a body of work in animation. As he finds material for his performances in his personal embarrassments, his drawings are likewise, if more solemnly, deeply personal. Themes of invasion saturate his visual work from how a baby changed his life, to how technology is changing everything. He articulates both surreal and mundane moments when he has felt shame with smiling resignation–confidence that shame and inevitability are absolutely universal.
Steve’s an award-winning comedian who currently resides in Montreal with his partner and cute baby.
Steve also created all of the illustrations for the 2016 Montréal Sketchfest!
